Andrew Nembhard, the No. 31 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga University, knocked down a three as time expired in regulation to lift the Indiana Pacers over the Los Angeles Lakers, 116-115, after trailing by as many as 17 points in the 4th quarter. Tyrese Haliburton led the way for the Pacers with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 14 assists, and 0 turnovers, while Bennedict Mathurin added 23 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Anthony Davis tallied 25 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks for the Lakers, while Russell Westbrook (24 points, 6 assists) and LeBron James (21 points, 7 rebounds) added a combined 45 points. The Pacers improve to 12-8 on the season, while the Lakers fall to 7-12.

After outscoring Golden State, 40-16 in Q4, the Celtics defeated the Warriors in Game 1, 120-108. Al Horford led the way for the Celtics with 26 PTS, 6 REB and 3 AST, while Jaylen Brown (24 PTS, 7 REB, 5 AST), Jayson Tatum (12 PTS, Playoff career-high 13 AST) and Derrick White (21 PTS) added a combined 57 PTS in the victory. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 34 PTS, 5 REB and 5 AST for the Warriors. The Celtics lead this best-of-seven series 1-0.
