I'm sorry, I know I'm in the
minority here but what Reese did Vs what Clark did was actually two different things. Caitlin did it basically to herself for her own gloating and riling up her team and fanbase, she NEVER did it in front of her opponent as if to kick them while they are down. Reese DID! And she did it in poor form. In rataliation. In poor sportsmanship for a "champion". In my eyes, it cheapens her championship pedigree. She is a sore winner of the highest order and she proved that on National TV. This has NOTHING to do with black or white. It's about the character. I guarantee you Caitlin wouldn't have taunted Reese to her face like that on the brink of winning a title. THAT'S the difference. We are talking about class and holding yourself to the standard of a champion. I'm sorry, but champions don't taunt like that not even in the men's sports. Did Shaq and Kobe taunt Iverson or step over him to retaliate when they won the chip? Did KG taunt Kobe in 2008? Did Steph taunt Lebron any of the three times he beat him? NO! Not like this woman did to Caitlin Clark. It's absurd anyone is defending her on this. Absolute trash thinking. Is this what her mother and father raised her to do. To be unbecoming of a champion. To be ungodly. Yes, I said it. I don't care if it's sports and passion and competitive which I am all those things more you know. But I was also raised to carry myself with dignified class. I don't care what y'all say to spin it. Reese was wrong and it sends a bad message to the kids coming up behind her. Horrible!

If this controversy follow both these young women into the WNBA . It won’t help the WNBA enough to sustain itself.

ESPN is a race hoax machine. One person has a celebration and the other person follows them around the court doing it in their face right as they won the championship, making loser signs up and they act like it’s the same thing. These people are insane. They claim people called her ghetto, which I haven’t seen but then at the press conference, she calls her self ghetto. You can’t make this 🤡🌎 up

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people pull the race card in a sport that is comprised of 75% black people (men's and women's). Also, literally the same exact comments were being said when clark did it to Louisville, just look back at the tweets, they're still there. Half the people called her classless and too cocky, the other half supported her. It's the same in both situations.
Also, generally, if you're perceived to be a worse player and you trash talk a player that out performed you people don't take it well. Clark did the gesture during the first 40 point triple double in ncaa tournament history, Reese did it after a solid game that was worse than her season average. Just because they DID the same thing doesn't mean it WAS the same thing.
All that being said, i think it's great. Clarks response was good, Reese's trash talk was cool. Media over reacted on both sides as per usual. Just hate the race narrative brought up every time someone doesn't get 100% support from an entire country.

… this two spots players are at the center of Sports Banter as to which one Faced Off on each other the best or worse. Yet Rachel Richardson incident is off the media table. Please explained that.

This is a concerning point over two women who are, in my opinion. At the center of Sports Banter. This is getting a lot of attention as to who Faced? If that's a term. I'm still stuck on the mystery of volleyball player Rachel Richardson. The individual who almost started a racial issue in filing a complaint that went public. That incident seemingly has been removed from the media platform.

Somebody must’ve been talking in Molly’s ear “alright that’s enough race talk switch it back to hating on men.” White feminism hates being called out on their racism and will throw men under the bus to save face. Newsflash: If this was men’s basketball an all white team taunting players would be dismissed as “boys being boys” “its just competition.” A black team doing the same would be called thugs, classless, immature, you name it. Race trumps gender everyday.

Van Lith from Louisville is one of the best trash talkers in the game, which is why she was approached after the Texas game. People need to quit with the selective outrage.

I dont care about the game Reese doing it during the game. But after the game was excessive and Reese should've went and celebrated with her team. N i dont think it has to do with women doing more trash talking. This is what ppl wanted out of Womens bball. I think ppl are using this to try and push their stupid narrative. Shouldnt have been this blown up.

My take: taunting diminishes the players. They played a great game which should be the highlight. But what's all the news? Whether this player or that player was disrespectful. Yes, this is the world of social media, but if you are in the sphere of public attention, you will be scrutinized for what you do and what you say. And now these two athletes have to respond to question after question about something that detracts from their individual performances. And they both end up losing something from it.

Clark is a class act, who can articulate her comments using clear, and proper English, unlike many college and professional athletes. Her comments demonstrate she is not only an elite athlete, but also an elite student and person. She will go far, whether it be basketball, or something else.

Here's my question.. what did Caitlin say or do to her? Or her team? I love trash talk, and I loved the whole game. But to me, that should have be it. That interview was not needed. Now what if Caitlin's team won and she did all that? Women's basketball is awesome. The drama and sensitivity that takes away from the game is why I don't watch.

Too much is being made of the end-of-game charade. The ones putting a racial spin on it (Angel included) aren't helping anything. The team that played better won the game. It was a mess though. I've seen a lot of sports in my day but that was something to forget. Coaches shouldn't be allowed on the court during the game. The fouls need to be called the same on both teams. Tech fouls were ticky tack at best. NCAA needs to enforce integrity in these games. It isn't about one person/player's and their agenda.

Clark and Reese’s actions were not the same though. They are talking as if taunting after the game is the same as trash talking during the game and getting into your opponents head before or during a game. Reese needed to be checked by her coach or teammates. No chance she’ll mature if black twitter is telling her that her toxicity is something to flex about like it’s an asset. Given the time and context, y’all being dishonest saying the actions were the same and warranted the same response. If it were handled well, we’d be talking about her incredible performance and the much needed win this tourney brought to the women’s game.
