Mac McClung 76ers Debut Highlights Vs Hawks

Written by admin. Posted in Blog

Mac played just 7 minutes in this one, scoring 5 points off a 3 and a couple of free throws. I didn’t think he looked out of place defensively… offensively he looked pretty good aside from his 2 turnovers. He had a layup blocked in the first half that should’ve been a goal tend as it clearly hit the backboard first but he didn’t get the call.

This was the first time seeing him against an NBA teams first unit as his 2 previous games were against end of the bench guys. Defensively he was mostly guarding Bogdanovic and on offense he was mostly guarded by Trae Young. Hopefully he gets 20 plus minutes in the final game of the regular season on Sunday. 2 way guys aren’t eligible for the playoffs so that game will conclude Mac’s season.

Literally only getting coverage because he's white lol. Why aren't other players getting these types of videos. It's silly.

He's better than some already playing in the NBA but he's white so not given a fair chance.

seems to play good defense, the NBA will cure him of that. Bey was like, no way I'm letting this little hype machine posterize me and just shoulders him to the floor.

People in the comment section claiming he's slow are allergic to data, and are not looking at film. What they are basing their claims off of, is anybody guess .. He's one of the FASTEST players EVER. Look it up. and STOP THE HATE. Imagine calling someone slow from looking at a photo 😂 🤣🤔

Why not more minutes? I think he earned it in the gLeague. In the matches of the finals he scored great numbers (as good as Springer's, who played as a starter in this match).I hope tomorrow he will have a chance. We know how much of a good slum dunker he is; well just for those who don't know, he has had the second best three pointer percentage in the gLeague this season. And has improved in other aspects too. In my opinion he has it all: talent, motivation, determination. If he is not given a real opportunity soon I will be surprised, maybe I will have to re-evaluate my knowledge of this sport..

I'm happy for Mac dawg! I really enjoy watching him and Springer. I would take these boys any day on a team. These two can hoop. I'm spoiled from watching Jordan, Magic , Bird, Nique , Webb , etc.. back in my day. I was a decent shooter at 6'4" 220 lbs with a vert of about 4 inches. I was called zero hops. L0l.

Good to see him on the court. Mac kept our hometown buzzing all his HS career. All of us are pulling for him to get a good contract.

The key will be his minutes. If they want him to flourish and get better they will give him significant play time, if they want to control or stimu him they will limit his play time on the court

I hope that the Sixers give him a real shot rather than judge him based on preconceived notions as the other teams did. This kid deserves a real hard look because he has the skills, attitude and work ethics to back it up!

Sixers are seed locked, he might play more since they will rest their starters.

I don't respond to the grossly ignorant, racist or bigots who use the same tired talking points, like McClung is too slow or unathletic. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, McClung posted a vertical leap of 43.5 inches, which would be the seventh-highest in the history of the NBA Draft Combine. Givony also said McClung ran the 3/4 court sprint in 2.94 seconds, the fastest time since 2001. Like Chris Rock says, "N words love not to know". I'm black and played D1 hoops on scholarship and feel any type of racism is absolutely wrong. The archaic NBA is absolutely wrong! One last point, Jeremy Lin didn't get a college basketball scholarship but I did…..and Jeremy Lin was light years better than me in hoops. LMAO!
