  1. I watched every game he played at Arkansas and there were only flashes of this. He averaged a quiet 15ppg. It makes me wonder what could’ve been had Acuff not been the focal point and he got more touches. I knew his game was built for the pros but my gosh, I didn’t see this coming. A pleasant surprise! Go Meleek!!!

  2. My ultimate take is that this kid got a game and has a very real chance of getting a lot of playing time. People forget that Atkinson likes to experiment with different players and kineups. Sam Merrill and Ty Jerome were almost nobodies before they came to Cleveland and because they could shoot they got paid. Harden and Donovan Mitchell both are older guards. One is 6'5 and slow, the other 6'3 and only plays offenseand both have bad injury concerns This opens the door for Thomas to steal some minutes and become a regular rotational piece. He will see the floor this season and be a impactful player

  3. Hopefully he doesn't lose his confidence because he's not going to get these opportunities with the Cavs as a rook

  4. He has the tryrese haliborton shot release.

I think his game will translate in the regular NBA games if he given the minutes and allow him to make mistakes at times. He probably needs to get stronger and improve his play making skills.

  5. He was top 5 ranked in this class in high school Not surprised Rookie of the year if enough mintues
