  1. 14:43 🇫🇷👽French journalist : Hello Victor, I get the impression that there’s no team better than yours when it comes to responding after a loss and winning when your backs are against the wall. Do you agree with that and how do you explain it? What needs to happen for you to stop being a "reactionary team"—a team that only finds solutions after running into problems? Even if you're the best at it, it can be both a strength and a weakness.

Victor Wembanyama : Definitely. I completely agree. I think it's due to both our lack of experience and our youth, especially since we're playing against experienced teams. To me, the two best examples are Minnesota and New York. They understand how fortunate they are to be in the Finals, and they know it's not guaranteed they'll ever get another chance like this. As for us, we're kind of like spoiled kids. For some of us, it's our first season—or one of our first seasons—and we're already in the Finals. We don't fully realize it yet. And to me, the team that appreciates the position we're in the most will be the one that wins.

20:50 Another french journalist : A question slightly outside of Game 2. When you were in France, you used to talk a lot about Kobe Bryant and how much you were inspired by his his relentless work ethic and mentality. Is that still the case today? And is that mindset even more crucial in the playoffs and the Finals?

Wemby : (long pause) I'd say that with age—even though I'm not old—and with all the experience we accumulate, I learn a lot. We learn a lot from the different people around us, and in a way, I'm building my own philosophy. 👽

  2. You gotta try keeping players in if the games going pretty well KEEP THE CURRENT LINE UP IN if its not going well anymore THEN switch.

Right as you took harper out mitch tbf that was the downfall

  3. Stephon Castle explicitly stating that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a tougher cover than Jalen Brunson is a massive quote.

It shows a few things about where San Antonio's head is at:

Battle-Tested Confidence: Coming out of the Western Conference gauntlet, Castle is essentially saying they've already faced the ultimate perimeter test in SGA.

Tactical Shade: While Brunson is elite at using angles, deceleration, and footwork, SGA's combination of length, pace, and foul-drawing is a different animal.
Castle minimizing Brunson's difficulty level is the exact kind of swagger you want from your lead point-of-attack defender, even if it provides instant bulletin-board material for the Knicks.

The collective sentiment that the Spurs believe they are outright the better team is just as important.
They clearly don't view the 105-95 loss as the Knicks overpowering them; they view it as a self-inflicted collapse.

When a team attributes a Finals loss strictly to 4th-quarter execution rather than a talent gap, they usually come out in Game 2 playing highly aggressive, desperate basketball.

They know they just need to clean up the late-game turnovers and defensive lapses rather than completely overhauling their game plan.

  4. I think Keldon needs to be played more minutes. Like HB, Keldon needs to use his 6 offensive fouls an attack KAT every chance he gets. Similarly, whoever Jalen Brunson is guarding should be exploiting that matchup. Not only is Brunson an easy bucket but the Spurs need to tire him out some by making him work harder on defense.

  5. Respectfully, Harrison Barnes should not shoot long jump shots. I know he can make them but the Spurs have better long-range shooters. HB has 6 offensive fouls to play with. He should be going at KAT every time he's on the floor b/c KAT is easy to bait into fouling if you go at him.

  6. I can appreciate Wemby being from France, but I wish they would leave the French questions out of these pressers. I don't know what is being asked and I don't know how's he's answering these questions. They should consider a separate French presser for that.

  7. How about quit shooting so many freakin 3's, leave Harper in, take out Fox, and Wemby on post. Boom. Done.

  8. You ain’t fooling me Mitch. Letting Fox shave points last night was disrespectful. You should be ashamed of yourself. You and Fox should be fired

  9. spurs need fox to play well or other players to step up as he doesnt look like he's healthy enough to attack the defense.

  10. Thanks Mitch got a chuckle out of the consistent line. We have lost leads consistently all year and that maturation hopefully comes in this series as it did in the last one.
